We have been in practice for over 40 years although we have traded as Yorkshire Accountancy for only the past 5 years. The practice was founded by Peter Robinson and Nick joined about 12 years ago as a partner. The image and name were changed together with a new website when we became Yorkshire Accountancy.
“What drives me? Money (only joking!!). Happy and successful clients. I hope my clients see me as their accountant, business advisor, friend etc. I also enjoy helping clients turn their business round. Whether this is a simple review of finances or a new bookkeeping system. Its also important that I have a life away from accountancy and have leisure time with my family. They make me realise why I work so hard!”
It is also important that the Yorkshire Accountancy clients are happy. They have a large percentage of remote clients (i.e. not Yorkshire based) and it is vital that these see the value in their services as well as those local ones.
Their aim is to offer value for money fees with a reliable service to. ‘I hate to see small business being ripped off’ says Nick.
Nick was involved several years ago in developing an Excel based bookkeeping system.
“I just could not find what my clients needed anywhere. “
This is where his system obsession started Nick has always valued his clients and sourced good bookkeeping solutions for them. Each client is different and therefore their requirements can differ too.
“WinWeb’s OnlineOffice is great because it offer’s the best of both worlds. ”
The ledger based system for those clients who need a full system but importantly there is also the Cash Book option for smaller clients and/or those with no ledger experience. Nick has discovered that clients would give up on bookkeeping if they did not understand what they were doing but this is not the case with WinWeb.
